Terms of Use
By using SplitRover, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language to match how the product actually works.
Use at your own risk
SplitRover™ is provided as a helpful tool for groups tracking shared trip costs. You use it at your own risk and are responsible for how your group uses the information shown in a trip.
Not financial, legal, or accounting advice
SplitRover™ does not provide financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Balances and transfer suggestions are calculations based on the data entered in a trip. Your group should confirm final settlements before moving money.
Link-based access
SplitRover™ has no user accounts. Access to a trip depends on who has the trip link.
Anyone with the link can view and update trip data. There is no built-in permission system for individual users.
You control who gets the link
You are responsible for sharing trip links only with people you trust.
If a link is forwarded, saved, or leaked, others may access the trip. SplitRover™ cannot take back a link once it has been shared.
Accuracy
SplitRover™ aims for cent-level accuracy in expense splits and balance calculations.
Final numbers still depend on what your group enters. You are responsible for reviewing expenses, transfers, and recommended settlements before paying anyone.
Availability
The service may change, pause, or stop at any time. Features, limits, and data handling may be updated as the product develops.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse SplitRover™. For example, do not:
- Use the service for unlawful activity
- Attempt to scrape, overload, or disrupt the service
- Upload spam, malware, or abusive content
- Interfere with other groups’ trips without permission
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SplitRover™ and its operators are not liable for disputes, payment errors, data loss, unauthorized access through shared links, or any indirect damages arising from use of the service.
No warranty
SplitRover™ is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation.
